How to Make mud and rubble in a WW2 diorama

In this tutorial, we learn how to make mud and rubble in a WW2 diorama. You can use corks as the rubble after you paint it and rip it into different pieces to make it look like destroyed buildings. You can purchase realistic water and gloss gel medium to look like water that is on the battlefield. If you mix them together with some chunky material, and then add in brown food coloring, it will look like mud. Using these tips and tricks, your diorama can look more realistic and look fantastic! Decorate the diorama how you want, then enjoy taking your time and doing a great job!

Greetings all scale modelers,

I am the founder of Hobbies in a Barn and Building Historic Dioramas on Facebook, additionally I have the website for all to enjoy several photos of my world known work with details on ordering custom built 1/35th and 1/48th scale World War II models and dioramas.

Hobbies in a Barn is a growing and energetic outlet for the collector, historian or anyone for that matter with an interest in having the highest quality models and dioramas built to their needs by myself using the best material recreating scenes right out of the best or worst conditions in the World War Two battle scenes. So be sure to take a look at just some of the examples that I have created for inspiration and drop me an email for specifics in ordering and shipping!

The 1/35th scale lineup of my models includes the features seen on these two German armored vehicles. Highly detailed and expertly painted with my latest techniques far outweigh the complexities of doing this yourself so order soon and see the results when I build you models or a diorama with the same level of expertise as these two examples. Please note that the models and dioramas shown on the pages are just that, examples only for inspiring you.

A cold Winter day to be re-created as the scene shows takes models to be built, a diorama base and lots of thought to go into such a project. I combine all these and more to produce the finest in dioramas and have been called an "artist who builds scale models" a very nice compliment that can be seen on my Facebook page. Winter is the worst weather that an army can face so let my history of building these types of dioramas supply your collection.

From feeding an army with the many features for such a diorama, I can complete any orders you may have for your collection.
